Any of the Holgan children would swear up and down that they love their family to death, that the picture-perfectness of it that’s viewed by strangers is the truth and not a facade although that would probably be one of the greatest lies of them all. Their father would never hesitate in cursing them or even Crucio-ing them using borrowed wands, or even beat them the muggle-way although there were usually henchmen for that. After all, beating is too undignified an activity for a member of their esteemed family of course. Being the youngest would often guarentee that Caleb would get the worst out of everyone, his mother having died giving birth to him and her being the only one that could calm his father’s horrible temper, the blame of his mother’s death placed on his young shoulders and being told it was all his fault for years on end causes him to believe that truly, it was. If he wasn’t born, then wouldn’t his mother still be alive? With the younger wizarding children disappearing, he has no doubt in his mind that his father would sell him out for a few galleons here and there but refuses to share his fear because fear means weakness, and Caleb does not have any weaknesses. He doesn’t exactly have an ton of friends considering the fact that he prefers to be alone with some spell books and his wand and is very independent. Although he’s to stubborn to admit it he does wish sometimes that he could be like those other laughing carefree kids he sees in the hallways but he feels as though that if he’s to survive in the place so filled with darkness and destruction that is the world we live in today, he has to be strong, and that means eliminating all possible distractions though however determined he might be, actually going through with the plan might be harder than he anticipated and one second of letting his guard down might change his world forever. Remorse and sadness is not something he generally feels, nor much emotion in general though in public he’ll grin and laugh like any other children his age who’ve lived a perfect golden life like the ones he desires to have since he was young.
Uly and Asa Butterfield from Hugo should probably start dating soon.
